Gry Holmskov began her career in 2000 as a carpenter's student at Rud. Rasmussen Snedkerier Furniture Workshop in Copenhagen, one of the oldest and most renowned furniture manufacturers in Denmark and a company which stands for four generations of excellent craftsmanship and uncompromising quality. In 2010 she graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Art, School of Architecture, and has since devoted herself to furniture and product design in her own studio, Gry Holmskov Design. With her special sense for materials and crafts she creates pieces in typical Scandinavian design: minimalistic, functional, timelessly elegant. In her work Gry Holmskov dispenses with unnecessary details, focussing on aesthetics and a positive connection between humans and furniture.
